Responsibilities
:Drive trade finance marketing from transaction origination to execution, lead deal teams together with coverage to establish new client relationships and on-board new trade accounts
Understand modus operandi of SMBC including how to differentiate ourselves from competitors and communicate new products and propositions to corporate clients through consultative selling
Support Head of Structured Trade & Working Capital Solutions HK on strategic initiatives to achieve sustainable growth for EA region, including trade innovation & digitalization, ESG & sustainable finance, product cross-selling (cash management & flow FX), etc
Identify potential opportunities in the local market and escalate these where appropriate to cater for client demand
Manage key relationship with internal and external stakeholders, developing and maintaining strong working relationships
Develop and recommend constructive changes and improvements to operating models, procedures and practice based on subject matter expertise and understanding of SMBC and market best practice
Requirements:
10+ years of commercial banking and/or trade finance experience.
Extensive knowledge of trade services / operations / solutions in conventional trade, receivables finance and Supply Chain Finance (SCF)
Good knowledge in credit & operational risk relating to trade products
Good understanding of the market trends, competitive environment, and regulatory environment
Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs through consultative selling
Ability to interact with business customers at all levels
Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and the ability to deliver compelling presentation in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
