Tobby FU

With over 19 years of experience in the innovation and emerging technology sector, Tobby is a seasoned innovator, intrapreneur, and leader who strives to bridge the gap between academic research and industry applications. He is currently the Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Institute for Innovation and Translation (IIT) of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), where he formulates and executes the overall roadmap of innovation, strategic alliance, and technology development for the university.

Tobby has a diverse and extensive background in technology commercialization, incubation, digital transformation, data analytics, engineering, marketing and product management, non-profit, and ecosystem development. He has worked in leading technology-centric organizations such as HKUST, ASTRI, Avnet, and ASM Pacific Technology. He holds multiple credentials and certifications in innovation and technology commercialization, strategy and entrepreneurship, corporate turnaround and innovation, and engineering business management. He is passionate about enabling innovation and technology for social impact and has published and presented on topics such as blockchain, AI, robotics, GreenTech, and Innovation Ecosystem.
