- Provide comprehensive legal support across various product lines.
- Advise management on legal matters related to the launch of new products and business initiatives.
- Structure legal frameworks for different products, including PE funds, SICAV, hedge funds, ETFs and HK Unit Trusts.
- Draft and review agreements, contracts, and legal documents.
- Negotiate and provide guidance on distribution agreements, rebate agreements, investment management/advisory agreements, ISDA/CSA agreements, and prime brokerage agreements.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and monitor the legal compliance framework.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel for specialized legal services.
- Regularly update and maintain house form templates.
- Attend workshops and seminars organized by law firms and service providers and provide timely updates to management on regulatory developments impacting the funds/asset management sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Law or Law Qualification from HK, Australia, UK and Canada is preferred. Advanced degree or relevant certifications would be advantageous.
- Proven experience in providing legal support within the asset management industry, with a focus on product structuring and advisory.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices pertaining to funds and asset management.
- Experience in drafting and reviewing various legal agreements, contracts, and documents.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and advise on complex legal matters, including distribution agreements, investment management/advisory agreements, and ISDA/CSA agreements.
