- Analyze information and data to determine ratings on insurance companies and their debt issues
- Make recommendations and deliver presentations to rating committees
- Produce press releases, company-specific reports, and industry commentaries within tight deadlines
- Effectively communicate S&P Global Ratings' methodology and procedures to clients
- Monitor the operating performance of rated companies, review public filings and private information, and participate in client meetings
- Collaborate in global and regional analytical sectoral forums and create related commentaries
- Bachelor's degree with Actuarial background, advanced degree, FSA or CFA charter certifications as a plus
- 5–10 years of experience in an analytical position or the insurance industry
- Knowledge of financial and capital markets, business environments, and insurance regulations in China and Hong Kong
- Prior experience in credit analytics covering life and non-life insurance and reinsurance
- Strong financial statement analysis skills and accounting knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to deliver effective presentations to senior executives
- Motivated team player capable of working autonomously in a global, fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in rigorous analytical work and adept at writing reports in English
- Proficient in Chinese language, including Putonghua

About the Role:
Grade Level: 11
The Team: The team consists of more than 10 analysts based in Asia, covering Financial Services practice, including Greater China Insurance, Korea and HK banks. This role reports to the Analytical Manager and closely collaborates with the Director of the Greater China Insurance pod.
The Impact: As a key player, you will deliver valuable 'credit stories' on insurance companies and markets, providing insightful opinions and robust analysis. Your responsibilities include analyzing a portfolio of insurance companies in Asia, engaging with issuers and investors, leading market education efforts, and representing the company in external credit-related meetings.
What You Stand To Gain: As a Senior Analyst, you have the opportunity to learn from and influence the dynamic capital markets through published credit opinions and market research. You will interact with senior management of the Insurers served and contribute independent views to rating committee decisions.
