- Accountable for the development of a comprehensive risk and control assessment for all aspects of risk and reviewing this with the business on a regular basis. This includes the effective oversight of the FLOD testing programme.
- Responsible for ensuring that a comprehensive risk based control monitoring programme exists across the function, evidencing the adequacy and effectiveness of key controls
- Responsible for the development of a strong risk awareness and client fairness culture across all aspects of the business. This includes working in partnership with various stakeholders in the Seond Line of Defence (SloD) to ensure appropriate controls are in place.
- Conducts Themetic Reviews of the business and identify new risks in the front line. Produces management report on findings.
- Accountable for proactive escalation, reporting, provision of advice and challenging existing processes in relation to the business activities.
- Undertakes any other duties within the Business Risk Management or as directed by the Head of Business Risk Management.
- Manages FLOD Risk Scorecard and ensures proper tracking, execution and integrity of the score card.
- Builds strong relationships and credibility with key internal stakeholders so as to represent Business Risk effectively.
- Provides counsel to front office staff on investment advisory activities and to ensure compliance with in-house policies & procedures and local regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor degree or above in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 1 - 3 years' prior experience with general risk management, including control framework is preferred. Fresh graduate will also be considered.
- Understanding of products and Wealth regulatory banking environment
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, multi-tasking and to prioritize tasks
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and written; able to distill complex and varied information into insightful and concise recommendations
- Exceptional soft skills with the ability to challenge the controls or processes while getting stakeholders' inputs.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines with timely responses and resolutions
- Proficiency with computer skill, skills on MS Excel/ MS Access would be an advantage
- Able to generate new ideas and processes, and confidently pursues challenges as opportunities
- Strong analytical skills and able to exercise judgment calls
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and multicultural awareness and sensitivity
