- Maintaining the group corporate risk register and developing/managing an analytical framework for assessing the severity of the corporate risks, deriving its risk profile and monitoring any changes;
- Planning and conducting of risk identification workshops, deep dives and scenario planning exercises into top risks
- Working closely with risk and mitigation action owners to develop mitigation plans, monitor any changes to risk profile and ensure progress of mitigation;
- Keeping abreast of and monitoring developments in Cathay, the aviation and transport industries and the global environment to identify emerging trends and assess their impact on Cathay;
- Conducting research into key risk topics and deriving insights relevant to Cathay;
- Preparing reports to Executive Committees and senior management and compiling supporting documents and data;
- Maintaining a risk champion network that will facilitate and strengthen ownership of risk process in business units;
- Building a network of contacts across the organisation as such to be able to both gather intelligence and exercise 'soft' influence;
- Developing reputation as a trusted advisor to the Business.
- Working with CRO and Heads of Corporate Risk to promote a positive risk culture within Cathay group by helping to build a safe environment for open discussion and debate
Requirements - Bachelor Degree in any discipline
- Minimum 8 years of experience working in risk management, compliance or internal audit, or other relevant business areas (such as strategy, project management, finance or operational management) at a global risk consultancy, a major listed corporation or a reputable specialist firm
- Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders and to build strong relationships in a multi-cultural work environment
- Good commercial acumen and ability to assess risk trends and their impact on the business
- Analytical mind-set with good numeracy and logic, and ability to digest information and data to produce provoking thoughts and insights; prior experience working with stochastic models and Monte Carlo simulations will be an advantage
- Interest in current affairs and enthusiasm for learning and researching new topics, and developing new insights and recommendations on established and emerging issues
- Curious disposition, inclined to question and challenge and to seek thorough understanding of issues
- Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and presentation skills, ability to write concise reports, organize materials and data
- Fluent in written and spoken English; Chinese language skills an advantage
