Our client is an international asset management firm, they are now seeking for a high calibre candidate to join them.
Provide legal advice and support in respect of fund distribution activities, including drafting and negotiation of distribution agreements and other subscription-related agreements. Provide legal advice and support in respect of the local registration and maintenance of SICAV fund range in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, including review of local offering documents, prospectus update and investor communications. Provide legal advice and support in relation to separate account activities, including reviewing and negotiating investment management agreements and assisting on RFPs and client inquiries as needed. Investigate issues relating to distribution and marketing of investment products with regards to entrance into new markets. Advise business functions accordingly and work closely with relevant internal stakeholders to complete the necessary documentation to acquire the relevant licenses and/or secure the required fund registration. Review presented business issues and opportunities, conduct extensive legal research and investigations, and craft legal solutions, balancing internal and external stakeholder interests. Collaborate with the various internal stakeholders and communicate legal response for complex issues. Monitor regulatory developments in Greater China region and Singapore, identify regulatory changes relevant to the business and, working with relevant internal stakeholders, provide legal support and guidance for the firm to adapt to such changes.
To qualify for the position, you should be a Degree holder, Hong Kong/ UK qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of PQE. Excellent English and Chinese written and oral skills. Ability to review, amend and draft documents and agreements in Chinese. Experience in the financial services/asset management sector either as an in-house lawyer or in private practice. Solid legal and regulatory knowledge of the Hong Kong financial services market. Strong analytical, drafting and negotiating skills.
