DescriptionThe Department of Educational Psychology is looking for full-time staff to support the implementation of a family-based project serving very young children from underprivileged families.
The project aims to enhance children's and families' functioning in everyday routines, facilitating children's overall development and parenting capacity with support from a multidisciplinary team.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work or related disciplines; (ii) a registered Child Care Worker (CCW) and Qualified Kindergarten Teacher (QKT) or a registered Social Worker; (iii) at least four years' post-qualification relevant work experience with young children; or at least five years' post-qualification relevant work experience in cases with young children and/ or low income families; and (iv) good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in teaching children with diverse needs is preferred. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant(s).The appointee(s) is expected to (a) develop home-based support programme and organise parent-child activities for young children and their families; (b) work closely with a team of multidisciplinary professionals to provide direct services to the families, including home visits; and (c) assist in data collection and data analysis.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for sixteen months commencing June 2022, renewable subject to mutual agreement and funding availability.
