DescriptionThe Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS), working with more than 200 ophthalmologists and visual scientists in Hong Kong and the mainland China, is committed to advancing patient services, research, and training and education to the highest quality in all major areas of ophthalmology and visual sciences.
We are also dedicated to worthwhile community programmes and public education projects.DOVS, always "in search of excellence", is looking for candidates to take up positions in our clinical and research (academic, community and translational) programmes involving ophthalmic investigations, public education, out-reach, and ophthalmic studies on disease entities, including thyroid eye diseases, dry eye disease, COVID-19 related eye diseases, oculoplastic and ocular surface diseases, eye trauma and cancers.
We are highly committed to supporting career development of all staff members.Applicants should have/be (i) a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Biology, Health Sciences, or other related disciplines; (ii) solid experience in at least one of the following areas: C/C++/JAVA/JavaScript/PHP/ASP.NET and/or Python software development in Linux/Visual Studio and/or mobile application; (iii) good written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese; (iv) independent and team-oriented with a good technical background, organizational, interpersonal, and social skills; (v) responsible, mature and attentive to detail; (vi) an effective, intelligent, energetic, resourceful and forward-looking work attitude; and (vii) personal integrity, sincerity and good team spirit at work.
Experience in deep learning, big data, data science, extended reality and middleware development will be a plus.The appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) conducting health data collaboration projects at big data laboratory, developing AI algorithm or supporting the development of software and hardware in extended reality; (b) assisting in literature review, data collection and analysis; (c) preparing manuscript and presenting research findings; (d) providing administrative support to the project, and (e) performing any other duties as assigned.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one to two years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
