- Under the direction of the area Local Unit Manager, ensure that all aspects of local unit finances and record-keeping are managed and administered properly in a legal and professional manner
- Train and provide advisory services to local unit leaders and clerks on finance and membership record-keeping policies and principles and tools
- Report to the area Local Unit Manager
- Ensure that local unit record-keeping reports and finance transactions are accurately submitted to Church headquarters on time and follow Church policies.
- Identify and analyze local unit trends and provide reports to the Area Presidency, DTA, and other departments, that are useful in decision making
- Provides training and support to local unit leaders and clerks on finance and membership record-keeping policies, principles, and tools
- Assists local leaders in preparing unit organization applications, maintaining membership records, and processing payment requests
- Ensures financial transactions are properly reviewed and approved and comply with the Church's financial standards and policies
- Ensures local unit record-keeping and finance reports are accurately and timely submitted to Church Headquarters
- Performs local unit risk analysis to identify processes and control weaknesses
- Prepares and presents area and regional-specific statistical analysis, trend analysis, and other reports
- Look for opportunities to refine local unit financial and record-keeping processes
- Initiates and participates in business solutions or process improvement projects related to local unit needs
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Business, Accounting, Finance, or other related discipline. Higher degree and/or certification preferred (CPA, CMA, MBA)
- Six years of professional work experience in business, accounting, finance, or related field
- Experience with local unit finance, record-keeping systems, and Church tools preferred
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, troubleshooting skills
- Skilled with Tableau, Power BI and/or BusinessObjects a plus
- Working knowledge of the Church General Handbook, financial policies, local unit record-keeping policies, processes, and tools
- Demonstrates a significant and in-depth experience and understanding of Church governance and policies, typically found in someone with ecclesiastical experience as a priesthood or organization leader
- Excellent analytical, planning, and presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
