- Lead the team to perform database administration and support services in Linux, Windows and Cloud platform;
- Lead the team to Implement and support infrastructure solutions in sophisticated, high-performance trading environments that demand stability, high throughput and low latency;
- Provide support and implementation work to application teams including database setup, migration and SQL performance analysis;
- Provide advice for operating policies, technical architecture and configuration of database system;
- Administer and manage Oracle Databases / IBM DB2 including monitoring, troubleshooting, installation, patching and upgrade, performance tuning, backup and recovery, stress test, capacity planning;
- Design database systems with security and compliance requirement and perform regular system compliance review and proactively assess exposure area;
- Maintain high system availability and ensure all database systems work properly;
- Manage vendor to ensure the highest quality delivery and implementation
- Degree holder in Computer science, Computer engineering, information technology or relevant discipline
- Minimum 15 years of working experience in managing and supporting Oracle / IBM DB2 databases;
- Experience in team management.
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle database including RAC, ASM, DataGuard, data partitioning, load balancing, JDBC, ODBC and integration with J2EE applications;
- Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
- Experience in system programming and administration on Linux or Windows Platform.
- Strong Experienced in SQL, PL/SQL and stored procedures.
- Strong Hands-on experience in shell script programming for process improvement and automation.
- Understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling.
- Project management experience in sizable scale technology infrastructure implementation.
- Experiences in MQ, AWS RDS, MS SQL and MongoDB is an advantage
- Proactive, strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and analytical skills.

Job Summary:
The Critical Service Delivery project teams are responsible for the design and build of IT infrastructure for HKEX application systems. We strive for the highest IT standard by looking out for new technologies as well as continuous internal process automation and improvement.
Job Duties:
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Principal Database Specialist with team management experience to join our Database team. Our team maintains the administration and support for the company-wise database infrastructure. We play a critical role to maintain these company-wise systems that are critical to daily business operation. We also partner with application teams to operate our systems in such fast growing financial markets in Hong Kong.
