RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing server hardware, network infrastructure, and storage systems.
• Ability to manage and troubleshoot operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and server software.
• Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching).
• Experience in implementing and testing disaster recovery plans and managing backup systems and data restoration processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders during a crisis, providing clear updates and instructions.
• Perform regular system maintenance, including patching, firmware upgrades, and system backups.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data centre management and system administration.
• Participate in on-call rotation, continuous coverage, and respond to emergencies as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• Min. 2 years of experience in data centre management and system administration.
• Proficiency with server operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows Server) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching).
• Experience with storage area networks (SANs) and storage technologies (e.g., NAS, RAID).
• Familiarity with data centre automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Terraform).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
