Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Architectural Design in the Department of Architecture (Ref , to commence on 1 January 2025, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.
The Department of Architecture offers an internationally-recognised, rigorous and dynamic research and teaching environment. Our faculty is composed of international scholars and professionals possessing a diversity of research interests both within and beyond the Pearl River Delta region. Staff members take an active part in shaping the Department's culture through both teaching and administrative responsibilities as part of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Our international community of students come from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Asia, and across the world. More information about the Department can be obtained at
The appointee will be required to conduct research, teach architectural design studios at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and supervise thesis for postgraduate students. In addition, applicants may be required to teach lecture courses and/or seminars in one or more of the following subject areas: architectural history and theory, building technology, and sustainable architecture.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
