Role Summary

The role supports the Chairman on client relationships, initiatives, conferences, client entertainment, interviews, publications and other marketing communications activities.This includes drafting and sending emails to clients and tracking replies, researching and preparing briefing notes ahead of client meetings, ensuring diligent follow up to business development activities, preparing Teresa for speaking and media engagements, managing contact lists, social media account management, compiling recipient lists and sending seasonal greetings cards, CV updates and management and handling meeting schedules for overseas trips.

In addition, the role will be involved in external marketing and business development activities including supporting the Chairman's role on various external committees and board appointments.

The role handles other ad-hoc projects and assignments as assigned by the Chairman and other parties.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate is a bachelor's degree holder (or above) with at least five years' experience in a leading international professional services firm or equivalent experience.

He/she must have solid communications skills as well as excellent written English language skills, with Mandarin an advantage.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have or be willing to acquire a good understanding of the legal or professional services market in Hong Kong and China.

He/she should have practical experience with Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel.

Key Requirements

This role is highly accountable and often responsible for safeguarding confidential information.

The ideal candidate must have the confidence and ability to interface with our China Chairman, senior partners and business services heads.

The candidate must also have the standing to deal directly with clients - often at a very senior level.

In addition to building strong relationships with members of the firm, he/she is a team player, is reliable, offers assistance to others in times of pressure and is willing to work beyond contractual hours from time to time.

He/she is adaptable and prepared to respond to change; approaches work with enthusiasm and without complaint.

Moreover, he/she is self-motivated and demonstrates commitment to get the work done; focuses on what is best for clients and the firm; has an enthusiastic and positive attitude.

The ideal candidate is aware of his/her own limitations and happy to ask for help and escalates issues when required.

He/she relates to a wide range of people by actively listening and responding to verbal and non-verbal clues.

He/she presents well, is articulate and self-assured; understands the impact of personal style on colleagues and appreciates the need to adapt this for the situation.
