Job Title: Security Guard

Department: Facilities & Operations

Schedule: 8 hours/day, 12 months/year; Monday - Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Job Summary

We are seeking a culturally proficient individual to monitor and control access to our campus, ensuring a safe and orderly environment for students, staff, and community. The successful candidate will foster an engaging atmosphere where students can develop confidence in their own success.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and control campus traffic in high volume areas;
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections across the campus;
• Implement campus security measures consistent with best practices;
• Maintain accurate, detailed incident reports and inform violators of rule infractions;
• Collaborate with administration, student resource officers, staff, and students;
• Respond to requests across campus requiring additional security and/or emergency assistance;
• Maintain positive communications (verbal and written) with various stakeholder groups.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma (GED);
• A valid NYS Security Guard License and NYS Driver's License;
• One year experience working as a campus patrol, security officer, or equivalent;
• Ability to de-escalate situations and respond appropriately to emergencies;
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with students, staff, administration, and community;
• Understanding of emergency response protocols and ability to react, respond, and communicate effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

CSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement; Salary scale: Step 1 ($22.07/hr) - Step 5 ($23.88/hr)
