    The AVP of Enterprise Productivity Management is a key leadership role within the organization that will lead and oversee large transformational initiatives that deliver significant expense savings. Reporting to the Vice President, Global Head of Enterprise Productivity Management, the role will focus primarily on transformation techniques to deliver significant and sustainable improvement in efficiency, reducing cost, scalability and / or integrating business units or capabilities across the enterprise.

    The AVP will deliver the financial outcomes associated with major initiatives in partnership with the sponsor. This individual brings together a collection of business and technical skills with a mandate to pioneer new ways of working, thinking, and operating.

    This is a high-impact role within Manulife, very visible at the leadership level and requires an individual with exceptional leadership skills, including high levels of emotional intelligence, stakeholder management, teamwork, and collaboration / influencing skills.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the segments and functions to identify and deliver on initiatives required to achieve efficiency targets that underpin our external commitment to consistently achieve a 50% or better cost-efficiency ratio.
  • Ensure the transformation initiatives are aligned with the corporate & business strategy and priorities, business transformation goals, growth of high-opportunity businesses, customer experience, cost reductions, efficiency improvements, etc.
  • Manage and oversee the transformation initiatives reporting on schedule, budget, scope, quality, risks/issues/dependencies, and benefit realization.
  • Provide visibility and transparency of the delivery of the progress and financial performance of the transformation initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively and build relationships with senior stakeholders, especially the initiative sponsor and business Lead(s), to elicit requirements to deliver the business objectives and vision.
  • Develop recommendations for change and support implementation.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws, and regulations.
  • Establish clear accountabilities and authority for the different team members.
  • Provide direction, consultancy, and support to the business leaders and project teams.
  • Ensure that results are measurable through establishing a baseline of performance and cost metrics, clear business cases and unarguable results as defined by improvements in appropriate KPIs, unit costings and productivity/efficiency measures.
  • Ensure that results are sustainable through the embedding of continuous improvement frameworks and processes to sustain the change over the medium to long-term horizon.
  • Deliver frequent and high-quality communications regarding the transformation initiatives and their progress and ensure strong visibility and collective buy-in from all key stakeholders.
  • Fully accountable for the success of all transformation initiatives and their delivery on time, scope, budget, and outcomes.

  • IDEAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (master's preferred) with a minimum of 10 years of solid experience in Consulting, Business Process Transformation and driving large-scale change initiatives with good exposure to the Financial Services industry.
  • A highly motivated senior individual who can work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • A team player who can connect well with peers and interact successfully with business stakeholders and regional functions at all levels as required.
  • Exceptional communication skills with high emotional intelligence to read the room and adapt accordingly.
  • Global leadership experience leading teams within and working with colleagues across a multi-national, geographically distributed environment.
  • Knowledge of the latest industry and technology developments, trends and standards would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the insurance and Wealth and asset management industry would be an advantage.
  • Superior knowledge of transformation techniques and methodologies (Operating model design, Six Sigma, Agile, etc.).
