    About the Role

    As a Senior Markets Compliance Manager in our Hong Kong Compliance team you'll play a key role and serve as a trust advisor in local compliance and regulatory matters for Markets business. This involves advising on preventative measures against specific transactions with new or existing businesses so as to maintain good reputation of the Bank and comply with local regulatory and internal requirements.

    Execute the compliance service delivery with goal to achieve the bank's purpose as well as strategic objectives in accordance to the group compliance management framework.

    What will your day look like?

    As a Senior Markets Compliance Manager, you will:

  • Execute the compliance service delivery with goal to achieve the bank's purpose as well as strategic objectives in accordance to the group compliance management framework.
  • Advise on various regulatory aspects of Markets businesses, and ensure the Markets business is conducted in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and codes of practice
  • Anticipate and assess key compliance obligations and product risk trends in the business for management consideration and drive the development and implementation of appropriate risk mitigation measures
  • Liaise with the regulators (HKMA/SFC), Internal/External Audit, etc on various regulatory enquiries, onsite/offsite examinations, internal investigations/audits and escalate significant or unresolved issues to senior compliance management and the business units when necessary
  • Undertake continual assessment of regulatory risks associated with new/ existing products and markets (e.g. annual product review, new product approval)
  • Review and provide compliance inputs on processes designed by Markets business to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the Bank's policies
  • Provide support and guidance to Markets business to embed a culture of responsibility for ongoing compliance at all levels of the business to achieve better governance and optimal review outcomes.
  • Be an active member in supporting the bank operational risk and compliance management projects and share good practices across the region.
  • Provide timely escalation to Head of HK Compliance, Group Compliance, Regional Head of Markets Compliance, and senior management team where appropriate
  • What will you bring?

    To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Tertiary Qualification is preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of banking experience, preferably with experience in a Compliance Advisory role in a Global Markets, Treasury or Corporate Banking Segment is preferred with in-depth knowledge in local regulation.
  • Regulatory interaction / connection: HKMA, SFC, DPS, PCPD, Hong Kong Banking Association
  • Knowledge of Global Markets and products, notably distribution practices
  • Good knowledge of HKMA/SFC regulatory requirements related to Global Markets
  • Solid experience in dealing with regulatory relationship
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
