    KPMG China's Privacy Group is currently seeking an experienced legal counsel to serve as Privacy Liaison Officer to

    drive privacy legal and regulatory compliance matters. Successful candidate will lead Privacy team with KPMG China's Trust and Growth vision in mind.

    About the Role

  • Overall supervision, management and implementation of Privacy Management Program. Monitor development of privacy laws and regulations (GDPR, PIPL, PDPO, PDPA).
  • Ownership of privacy processes and controls.
  • Assess and manage potential privacy risks by balancing the needs of the business (Audit, Tax and Advisory), balancing growth, risk, clients and stakeholders, regulatory and governance.
  • Identify business pain points and make relevant changes to controls and processes while ensuring compliance with the applicable data privacy laws.
  • Maintain registrars of existing personal data and supply chain inventories to enable risk management processes as required.
  • Maintain and improve quality of privacy controls and processes under PMP framework to meet the expectations of internal and external (ISO27701) auditors.
  • Collaborate with IT and solution teams to design, develop and integrate Privacy by Design solutions into technology solutions development to meet business requirements.
  • Provide timely and effective privacy consultation advice to internal stakeholder.
  • Collaborate with legal contracting teams to resolve privacy contracting matters.
  • Monitor the changes and development of new regulatory compliance rules relating to cross-border transfer of personal data impacting businesses in the mainland and across the GBA and KPMG network relating to GDPR compliance.
  • Represent KPMG China in Global privacy working group. Own and execute changes and requirements as they relate to KPMG China from Global privacy legal and compliance team.
  • Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer of minimum PQE 8 years.
  • Experience in privacy and regulatory compliance gained from sizeable organizations.
  • Proven ability to work with various stakeholders both internal and external and with regulatory authorities.
  • Have a mindset of change to identify opportunity to streamline existing privacy processes and controls, update privacy policies.
  • Excellent communication in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
