The Project Manager role will support multiple technology projects across Asia for one of our investment bank clients, project management talents with experience in Electronic Trading Infrastructure projects related to Stock Exchanges colocation data centers would be a plus.Job Description
1.Data Center Project Management
Responsible for overall project coordination with internal technology teams, external contractors, and data center service providers to deliver projects.
- Design, Analysis and Requirement Gathering
o Gather hardware requirements BOM (model, delivery dates etc.) from different technology teams.
o Calculate/design the required rack count, power consumption, cooling, network panels, cables, etc, and work with other Data Center teams on design and construction.
o Work with Sourcing, Real Estate, Legal and Finance teams on RFPs when applicable
- Implementation and Deployment
o Monitor different service providers progress during implementation. Prepare project defect lists and follow-up accordingly during handover.
o Centralize all installation requests for different technology teams, and raise Change Management request.
o Coordinate and escort Telco carrier vendors for circuit installations, and witness testing.
o Coordinate and supervise patching of network cables, and witness testing.
o Work closely with different third party vendors for equipment delivery.
o When required, assist in physical racking and stacking oftechnology equipment (e.g. power and network cable connections, iLO configuration).
o Centralize and raise all equipment decommission and disposals requests. Follow appropriate guideline carefully, and work with disposal teams/vendors on equipment disposal, disk degaussing/shredding and document detailed records
- Documentation
o Update equipment inventory management system and rack elevations.
o Provide regular reporting on project status and meeting minutes to regional EDC team.
o Obtain and collect all data necessary for management/operation report, including capacity management, financial budget forecasts, project spends, vendor coordination, patching, and project sharepoint sites
2. Additional Operation Responsibilities:
The project manager will need to assume additional operation responsibilities to support the people centers communication rooms and Stock Exchange colocation Data Center activities such as:
- Hardware Checks: Hardware visual and physical inspection, email status report
-Vendor Co-ordination : arrange onsite access and escort for vendors should it be required for break-fix, installation or any project works
-Equipment Disposal : Centralize and raise all equipment decommission and disposals requests. Follow appropriate guideline carefully, and work with disposal teams/vendors on equipment disposal, disk degaussing/shredding and document detailed records
-Data Centre Power-down management: coordination with different technology teams and vendors
- Site Access Arrangement : arrange data center access for other teams if required outside coverage hours
Education and Certifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Skills
- Language: Fluent in English. Other Asian languages is a plus
- Experience/Knowledge:
o 4-6 years Data center work experience
o Good understanding of data center infrastructure and its resiliency design (UPS, Generator, CRAC, cabling, containment routes, etc). CDCP is a plus
o Good understanding of technology hardware installation procedure
o Network cable patchings and testing technique
o Solid experience with Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Project
o Project Management certification is a plus, such as PMP
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills
- Ability to organize and plan multiple projects with different end-users simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and under pressure
