- Assist to set up a research programme on smart urban water management at the School;
- Develop machine learning algorithms to analyse data collected from urban water systems, to gain insights of the system status and to support optimisation and real-time control of urban water systems;
- Work closely with industry collaborators to collect data from urban water systems; and
- Assist to supervise students' research projects.
- A PhD degree in environmental engineering/civil engineering or related fields, with no more than 3 years' experience after the award of a PhD degree;
- Relevant research experience in the modelling and/or control of urban water systems particularly of wastewater collection and treatment systems;
- An excellent track record in high-quality publications; and
- Good command of written and spoken English are required;
- Advanced knowledge and skills in machine learning would be highly beneficial.
