    Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Medical Underwriting function at Employee Benefits Department, and ensure smooth end-to-end underwriting operational process from notifying members of underwriting requirements for Group Life & Group Medical coverage, answering enquires on the u/w requirements, tracking of cases requiring reminders, review and approve cases in accordance with the Medical Underwriting guidelines and Authority limits, effective and accurate communication with insured members on underwriting outcomes and proper notification for relevant stakeholders such as distribution team and intermediaries.
  • Monitor daily processes to streamline the medical underwriting workflow & processes and work across departments to solve the daily operations and problems to improve turnaround time, improve accuracy and consistency to meet the AXA's operational requirements and guidelines.
  • Review and update of AXA Employee Benefits Underwriting manual for Group Life & Group Medical and maintain authority framework periodically in accordance with Group Standard, and obtain approval accordingly.
  • Distribute Medical underwriting guideline and coach the medical underwriting team on the application of the guidelines.
  • Develop team members to obtain higher underwriting authority limits such that there is proper escalation of cases.
  • Ensure periodic Health underwriting file audits are completed as per the audit protocols to review files against the underwriting principles and delegations of authority.
  • Provide quarterly underwriting activity dashboard for both Chief EB & Wealth Officer and Chief Underwriting Officer.
  • Liaise and work closely with reinsurers on the medical underwriting assessment of Group Life cases and drive for optimal underwriting terms.
  • Your Profile

    Qualifications and Requirements:

  • University graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years experiences in Health insurance
  • Possess medical and underwriting knowledge
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese)
  • Good interpersonal and people management skills
  • Literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Manager
