- Leading, as a Sustainable Finance specialist, individual assignments on ESG and sustainable financing instruments and frameworks, in Japan and/or in APAC depending on the business pipeline;
- Building a subject matter expertise to support ESG in ratings, i.e., interacting with credit rating analytical teams to facilitate the inclusion of appropriate environmental, social, and governance factors in credit risk analysis and industry-based publications;
- As the key representative of the team for Japan, becoming a spokesperson for the company in external engagements (market outreach, customer interactions...);
- Conducting research and analysis on ESG themes, and how these could impact organisations in Japan and the wider region over the short, medium and long term. This work should result in the publication of research commentaries that are widely read by the investment community; and
- Contributing to the development/enhancement of our analytical approached. What We're Looking For:
- A Bachelor's degree with some courses in sustainability, finance, social and environmental management. A science-based qualification would be an asset.
- Either relevant Master's degree or CFA Charterholder would be a plus.
- Employees at this level within S&P Global typical possess at least 7 years of relevant work experience.
- A few years of experience in the sustainable finance/ ESG team of a bank, a corporate or a consultancy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and be resourceful, gathering information from various internal and external sources to summarise trends and themes.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work on Excel to manipulate data from databases with charting, pivot tables and other formulas, such as lookup functions and logical tests.
- Ability to put together and deliver convincing Powerpoint presentations.
