//ker-), part of the recently established Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM; ) at the University, are now inviting applications for the post of Postdoctoral Fellow(s) or Senior Research Assistant(s) (External Fund). Applicants should have (i) a PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering or Biology with relevant research experience, preferably in bone-tendon biology or bioengineering (for Postdoctoral Fellow); OR a medical degree or a Bachelor's degree plus at least four year' post-degree research experience (for Senior Research Assistant (External Fund)); (ii) good research skills, such as molecular and cell biology techniques (cell culture, RNA-seq, qPCR, western blot and immunofluorescence staining) and biomaterial development skills (biomechanical testing, polymer synthesis, polymer characterisation); (iii) good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills; (iv) a highly self-motivated and detail-minded work attitude with the ability to work independently; and (v) experience in drafting research proposals and academic papers. The appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) conducting musculoskeletal research; (b) grant writing; and (c) laboratory management. Research emphasis will be on Tissue engineering for musculoskeletal applications, which generate biomaterials that (1) act as physiologically-relevant models for advancing our understanding of musculoskeletal biology and (2) can be clinically translated for treating musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Mentoring and training in bone-tendon biology, biomaterial development, and biomaterial testing will be provided to complement skillsets as necessary. Appointment will be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
