Description:

The Office of Knowledge Transfer is seeking a candidate for the position of a Manager. The appointee will work closely with research project teams. The appointee will be responsible for facilitation of R&D deliverables developed by faculty to products via the ECO system of the HKUST Innovative Collaborative Center (HCIC). HCIC was jointly established by the University and the Beijing Institute for Collaborative Innovation (BICI) to foster the transformation of R&D deliverables into commercially viable businesses, including spin-off.

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President for Knowledge Transfer (AVPKT), the appointee will have the following major responsibilities:

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree and with at least 8 years of relevant post-qualification working experience. Preference will be given to candidates with solid entrepreneurial spirit and operating deep tech start up experience. The ideal candidate should be able to perform multiple tasks independently with good organizational and interpersonal skills. Numerical accuracy and attention to details are necessary. He/She must also have an excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) with good communication skills. Travels to the Mainland will be required. Working outside normal working hours for meetings and events may occasionally be required. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
