Manulife HK is seeking a Associate Director, Operations Controls & Governance. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing Hong Kong Insurance operational quality assurance programs, which uplift the capabilities of operations teams in meeting the operational performance and control needs on an ongoing basis. In addition, there will exposure to working with Senior Management in forming and executing business and operational improvement initiatives.

  • We are looking for someone with:

  • Degree holder in legal or compliance disciplines with appropriate insurance qualifications
  • Over 10 years’ experience in operational risk management/quality management/program management in the Financial Services sector
  • Work experience in the life insurance industry would be an advantage

  • On the job you will:

  • Manage the Quality Assurance team as the Subject Matter Expert on operational risks and quality management with controls and measures to ensure compliance with day-to-day regulatory requirements
  • Resolve key process controls matters with good compliance in a professional manner
  • Formulate internal policies and programs to help develop staff and organizational capabilities
  • Identify, develop and deliver operational quality assurance programs for improved operational efficiency across Hong Kong Individual Insurance Operations
  • Coordinate between various stakeholders, such as compliance, risk and audit teams to support process or controls improvement initiatives to meet global and local regulations
  • Take the lead to implement new regulations and quality control initiatives
