An international bank is looking to hire a contract finance and accounting officer. Reporting to the VP, this finance and accounting officer is accountable for providing effective financial management, governance and administrative support to their capital markets & treasury division. This role also works collaboratively with staff across the business and external stakeholders to develop and manage innovative, forward thinking business and system solutions for finance department. This role would be offered as an initial contract for 12 months with a potential for extension.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the daily reporting tasks including the PnL, MIS reports, financial product control register, FX transaction register, bank reconciliation
  • Analyse and correct any discrepancies
  • Work with operations team to complete the intra group reconciliation on a monthly basis
  • Participate in the month-end closing procedure
  • Compile and record assets, liability, revenue and expenses entries
  • Assist with year end accounting reports and external audits
  • Assist in the improvement of the reporting process

    • Requirements

  • Degree qualification in accounting
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience gained within banking/ financial institutions
  • Demonstrated high level knowledge of accounting standards’ requirements relating to banking business
  • Excellent command in spoken and written Cantonese, English and Mandarin
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • High standard of accuracy and attention to details
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently within a team structure
