We are looking for a Senior Manager, Professional Services, Network & Security (N&S) Practice. Is this you? Can you, develop and lead a matrix organization of culturally and geographically diverse regional technology practice managers? Do you thrive in fast-growing, high energy environments? Then how would you like to be the person to drive the practice development of VMware Professional Service N&S consulting services across Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ)?

Working with the regional N&S practice managers, you will be accountable for the development, growth, achievement and mentoring of the wider N&S consulting community across the geography. This you will achieve through a variety of activities including identifying areas for improvement, targeted training and enablement.

We expect the Practice Manager to lead by example and be fully capable of being able to knowledgably present to customers, work with internal business units and architect solutions. Further we expect you to be able to roll up your sleeves and support the team in trouble shoot issues in the N&S domain. To this end it is required that you carry suitable industry certifications and work history that demonstrates your technical capabilities.

As a part of the APJ wide Professional Services organisation you will support organization growth initiatives and execution strategies through internal business partnerships with the global Professional Services N&S Practice Manager, N&S Business Unit, field Sales Organization, Alliances, Partners, Global Support, Customer Success and other parts of the organisation as required


  • At least 5 years in a practice leader or practice management role
  • At least 10 years experience in customer-facing positions as a professional services consultant or engineer, preferably with an Internet or “Big 5” consulting organization
  • Domain expertise in Network & Security technologies
  • Knowledge of security principles, remote exploits, end point protection, perimeter defense
  • Long history delivering professional services projects
  • Work history and demonstrable exposure to enterprise desktop IT.
  • Understanding of modern Network & Security landscape and industry changes.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent of the time, including international.
  • Industry security and networking certification
  • B.S./M.S. degree, equivalent technical training or significant industry experience well regarded.
