Executive Officer in the Department of Sociology (Ref.: 503005) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a good Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years' solid administrative experience in tertiary institutions.They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills; IT competence; and a good sense of tact in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues, including discreet handling of personnel and confidential files. They should be attentive to details and be able toprioritize multiple tasks efficiently; a good team player with the ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines; and self-motivated and have a strong sense of responsibility.
The appointee will provide administrative support to a wide range of functions in the following areas: (i) human resources; (ii) financial management and budgeting; (iii) research administration; (iv) external communications and events; and (v) space planning and utilization, and office management. Work outside office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or written test.
