The CUHK Centre for Bioethics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong was established in January 2015 within the Faculty of Medicine and affiliated with the Department of Philosophy. The Centre aims to commit to education, research and collaboration in bioethics. Currently, the Centre has 2 philosophers and 1 lecturer of bioscience and public health background. The Centre plans to recruit a scholar to enhance its capacity in bioethics education and research.
Applicants for the position of Lecturer should (i) have a Master’s degree or above in a subject related to bioethics; (ii) have at least four years’ post-qualification work experience in relevant fields; (iii) demonstrate good scholarship in bioethics; and (iv) preferably have experience in teaching at a tertiary level. Possession of a doctoral degree will be advantageous but not essential.
Applicants for the position of Assistant Lecturer should have a Master’s degree in bioethics; and preferably experience in teaching.
The appointee will teach bioethics course(s) for CUHK medical students in both our Shatin campus and the Prince of Wales Hospital. Teaching responsibility may also extend to other bioethics course(s) developed for undergraduate students at CUHK in future.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for two years commencing May/June 2021, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
