The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is launching aproject aimed at driving changes in the educational ecosystem of the Hong Kongsecondary schools towards the incorporation of AI components. The project isled by the Faculties of Engineering and Education with funding support from TheHong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. It is a three year (2019-2022) projectwith possibility for further extension upon successful completion. The projectwill undertake the development and implementation of a novel and comprehensiveAI curriculum for secondary forms, with provisions to support hands-on learningon an e-platform. The project will also engage selected secondary schools andteachers to effectively implement the AI curriculum. A wide diversity of publiceducation events will be offered to engage the public and enhance theirunderstanding towards AI technologies.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's or a Master's degreein Engineering, Education or a related discipline, preferably with at leastthree years of work experience; (ii) experience in engineering, curriculumplanning, instructional design; and (iii) a good track record in technicaldevelopment.
The appointee(s) will (a) assist Professors and PostdoctoralFellows in preparing AI curriculum content and teachers’ training materials;(b) assist in teachers’ training and workshops, class observations and relatedactivities; (c) assist in evaluating the effectiveness of the new AI curriculumby analysing the data collected, and proposing any further data required toillustrate the impact; (d) assist in designing interactive learning objects;(e) assist in the design of webpage and online content to illustrate the usageand statistics to the schools; (f) co-ordinate administrative matters inmaterial preparation (such as statistics and documents preparation) and liaisewith internal colleagues concerned and external users; (g) conceptualise theexperience and good practices in use of the designed content and document throughregular report writing.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for upto two years commencing November 2020, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
