Naturally this a varied role, but responsibilities can typically be expected to comprise:

  • Produce BIM models as per project requirements 
  • Drawing/detail production from Engineers sketches and from scratch using architectural drawings and or concepts. 
  • Take responsibility for drawing issues and daily housekeeping in terms of both digital and hard copy project file storage. 
  • Depending on your experience level, to lead or assist project teams in BIM project set up.
  • To implement BIM training modules for key staff and maintain training course ware.
  • To participate in the process of developing BIM standards for projects across BuroHappold.
  • To develop and maintain Revit content libraries through creation of families, etc.
  • To provide guidance and assistance with design projects to ensure they are setup and progress optimally, and teams are using Revit appropriately.
  • Ability and willingness to work remotely with colleagues in other offices, and on occasion, if required, to travel to those locations for briefing or co-ordination meetings.

    As an experienced BIM professional, it is expected that you can demonstrate the following...

  • Relevant industry experience as a Structural Technician working on a range of projects.
  • Ability to prepare general arrangement, section, 3D and detailed drawings.
  • Experience in modelling structural geometry, structural framing layouts & sections, drawings sheets.
  • Clash detection and coordination of all services in Revit & Navisworks.
  • Revit content creation: Parametric families using formulae, nesting and type catalogs.
  • Integration of Revit products with other applications (AutoCAD, Quantity Takeoff, clash detections etc.)
  • Willingness to learn new skills and software plus attendance of upgrade training according to industry requirements. 
  • Degree or Diploma in Civil/ structural engineering.
