Job Purpose (Job Summary):
The role is to provide leadership on ESG client engagement, policy development, thought leadership, marketing and product development in the Asia-Pacific region. The role reports to the Global Head of ESG as part of the global ESG team, and works in close partnership with local internal and external stakeholders in the region and globally. The person will have deep knowledge of ESG stewardship policies, programs, and strategies with the aim of strengthening the message we deliver to clients, policy-makers, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Act as ESG spokesperson for Invesco in Asia-Pacific and represent Invesco on industry panels and forums
  • Support institutional sales for ESG focused clients, working closely with the distribution team across Asia-Pacific as well as ESG experts across our investment centres and with Global Head of ESG
  • Subject-matter expert on regional stewardship codes, local industry initiatives, regulatory developments and providing insights on these developments internally and externally both through verbal and conversations and written research and thought leadership
  • Work with Asia-Pacific and EMEA product teams as a key stakeholder in supporting innovative product solutions
  • Seek client input on their ESG requirements and feedback into the wider organisation
  • Initiate thought leadership on emerging ESG topics and execute from concept to publication
  • Promote transparency in investment stewardship and engage with policy makers and industry bodies for greater strength of Invesco’s position in ESG networks in Asia-Pacific
  • Strategic Institutional client advisory role in respect of ESG considerations in their investment strategies
  • Develop and maintain specialist investment knowledge and understanding of pensions and investment industry products and trends contributing to tailored client investment strategies in Asia-Pacific
  • Strengthen our client servicing model and institutional strategy though the inclusion of ESG considerations
  • Lead ESG Asia-Pacific Forum
  • Member of Global Investment Council led ESG ecosystem and Global ESG team leadership

    • Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • 10+ years of experience required
  • Excellent ESG knowledge
  • Deep knowledge of institutional clients’ needs and requirements
  • Deep knowledge of Asia-Pacific ESG landscape

    • Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:

  • Excellent teamworking skills
  • Ability to work in a global matrix organisation
  • Ability to liaise with those responsible for developing investment portfolios
  • Ability to act independently while fundamentally aligned with Invesco global positioning
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent cultural awareness across the Asia-Pacific region
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English essential
  • Knowledge of Japanese a plus
