At Mattel, our Human Resources team brings our WONDER values to life to transform the way people work, play, think, feel and create. Mattel is seeking a progressive Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) who will be based in Hong Kong to translate Mattel’s HR strategy into relevant plans to attract, develop, advance, and engage employees supporting the designed business units. The HRBP will report into the Regional HR Director APAC and collaborate with Mattel’s HR Centers of Excellence to shape programs and initiatives supporting employees in a purpose centered workplace.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Drive Organizational Performance: Partner with business leaders to build high functioning and performing teams, driving towards business goals and overall organizational effectiveness Provide proactive and effective advice to leaders on performance management, organization design, and staffing opportunities Deliver effective people strategy and solutions by assessing business needs strategically along with business leaders Work with people managers to manage and maximize the skills/capabilities of their team members Manage employee relations include ensuring proper handling, documentation and alignment with legal
Inform, Engage and Accelerate Change: Implement talent development programs such as workforce and succession planning along with business leaders Maintain good communications with managers and employees to ensure full understanding and practical application of HR programs, practices, policies, and local legislations Align people strategy to the business objective by maintaining awareness of emerging trends and best practices Utilize data and insights to drive decision making
Reshape Baseline Organization : Design and build organization structures and processes that align with strategic growth priorities and cost initiatives Implement organization design to establish new capability requirements, up-skill talents and drive sustainable business growth
What We're Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in related field; with Master’s degree a plus 8+ years’ of experience in HR, with at least 3 years in a Business Partner role Comprehensive organizational development and change management experience Hands-on experience in implementing programs on workforce planning, talent management, compensation, employee relations, training & development, and legal/compliance Knowledge of HR legal practices and employee relations skills Ability to build and facilitate trusted business partnerships across multiple functional groups Thrives in a consumer facing, global, matrix working environment Data driven, organizational, and problem-solving capability Good Command of English and Cantonese
