oActively identify business opportunities at new and existing customers, develop and close new applications using his/her technical and product expertise (material selection, design recommendations, process optimization, etc.) and in collaboration with other functions and resources (R&D, technical service, manufacturing, distributors, etc.).
oBuild strong relationships with existing and new customers (OEM’s, molders, design firms, contract manufacturers etc.) as well as emerging regional players.
oCreate strategic account and growth plans for target customers.
oDrive new application development programs, secure customer approvals and support/coordinate molding trials and testing.
oManage the distribution channel and inside sales to support the existing business in the region.
oSupport management in the development and implementation of the regional medical business strategy by identifying new trends & needs, evaluating market potential, and executing growth and value generation programs.
oLead regional initiatives to drive sustainable growth and strengthen the CYROLITE brand in the Asian market.
oCollaborate with various regional and global functions (commercial, technical, manufacturing etc.) in support of new product development, product performance optimization and business case development.
oProactively manage accounts by responding to customers inquiries, presenting marketing information, and providing product brochures and data sheets.
oProvide regular feedback on the market, customers and competition to the organization
oSupport/execution of trade fairs, customer events and innovation seminars.
•Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business development or sales (plastics or chemical products), preferably to the medical device industry
•Bachelor degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science or a similar science or engineering degree. MBA would be a plus.
•Understanding of marketing fundamentals and strategy development (market and competitive analysis, needs assessment, strategic positioning, marketing plan, etc.).
•Strong negotiating skills. Previous experience in value pricing and negotiating business contracts as well as supply agreements is highly desired.
•Excellent written and oral communication, organization and interaction skills in both Japanese and English.
•Ability to work in cross-functional and remote teams.
•Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
•Location is HK. Travel within the region is required (up to 50%)
•High energy, results-oriented.
•Strong background in application development preferably in the plastics and/or medical device industry (material selection, part/mold design, process optimization, structural analysis, regulatory compliance, etc.)
