The appointee will provide support to the Financial Technology (FinTech) Thrust Area, Society Hub of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST (GZ)). Major responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Job duties:

  • Assist in faculty hiring/on-boarding process;
  • Provide administrative support in student-related issues, for instance, admission, class enrollment, placement and internship etc.;
  • Assist in program/curriculum maintenance;
  • Coordinate seminars, student activities and meetings;
  • Operate promotion platforms, including WeChat, website, etc.;
  • Liaise with internal and external parties in response to inquiries and requests on the Thrust;
  • Render logistics support in the Thrust daily operation; tracking and purchasing of office inventories; processing purchase and reimbursement in compliance with University regulations;
  • Assist in all kinds of paperwork; handle related documents filing and database maintenance; and
  • Other duties assigned by Thrust Head.

    • Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or above;
  • Able to multi-task with good communication skills;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Proficiency in MS Office; and
  • New graduates may also apply.

    • Introduction to FinTech Thrust Area
    FinTech is dubbed one of the most dynamic fields that will revolutionize the financial industry and beyond. Students will focus their research on a combination of the following topics: FinTech and Regulation, AI/Big Data in financial applications, Blockchain/Cryptocurrency/DCEP, Financial Market Design, Data Analytics/Data Visualization, Risk Management, and Financial Inclusion.

    Terms of Appointment
    This is a Mainland appointment and the appointee will be offered a contract by the HKUST Mainland entity in accordance with the local labor laws and regulations. Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract, renewable on mutual agreement.
