Wee Ming Lim

Scott is a Chartered Environmentalist, experienced Sustainability Consultant and Manager with

a career in Sustainability spanning 7 years in Malaysia and Hong Kong, with projects across

Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia, China, Taiwan, and Singapore. As a certified ESG analyst, Scott

advised core business priorities to develop targeted, commercially driven strategies that deliver

a market-leading position in sustainability. Scott’s talent is working across leadership teams

and business operations to build capability, leveraging his technical skills and industry

knowledge to focus company sustainability efforts on achieving the most significant outcomes

for internal and external stakeholders.

In his current role as Deputy Sustainability Manager for New World Development (NWD), which

was recognized by TIME Magazine as one of the “World’s Most Sustainable Companies of

2024,” ranking 43rd out of over 5,000 companies, his priority continues to be:

• Sustainability Management: Navigating corporate sustainability strategies, setting

policies, targets, roadmaps, ratings, awards, and maintaining green building portfolios.

• Strategic Initiatives: Leading group sustainability strategies for one of Hong Kong’s

largest real estate developers, with assets valued over HKD 500 billion. He spearheads

initiatives under a robust decarbonisation roadmap to meet near-term Science Based

Targets by FY2030, consistent with limiting global warming to 1.5°C.

• Energy and Built Environment Management: Implementing energy efficiency

measures, managing power purchase agreements, increasing the use of renewable

energy sources, and advising on sustainable building and community design, health

and well-being, decarbonisation, climate resilience, and nature-positive design.

• Sustainability Reporting and Ratings: Supporting corporate ESG reporting and audits,

ensuring alignment with GRESB, CDP, DJSI, SBTi, TCFD and TNFD.

• Health and Wellbeing: Championing initiatives and advising projects to enhance

occupant health and quality of life, such as mental health program and WELL building.

Scott is a passionate and influential contributor to the sustainability community, maintaining

involvement with the Energy Institute as an assessor for chartered members, and staying

connected to key industry groups such as USGBC, HKGBC, IWBI, ILFI, and WWF. He also

publishes articles on sustainability and regularly participates at industry events and

conferences.
