Lok Man Wong

I attained First Class Honors B.Sc. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics in 2011, as well as an M.Phil in Physics in 2013 from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. I was a recipient of the HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship, the George K Lee Foundation Scholarships, the Continual Scholarship, Dean's List Awards and other academic studentships.

I became a Physics tutor at Cornell University and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2011.  I also worked as a subject coordinator (Physics) in one of Hong Kong’s top Academic Consultancy groups, helping numerous students to overcome challenges in their studies. Many of them received tutorial lessons from me since their early year 9 (grade 8) until the end of their year 13 (grade 12) when they finished their IB/AL examinations. I also helped Freshmen majoring in Engineering in Universities, such as Lancaster University and Imperial College London, by consolidating their understanding in principles applied to Engineering.

As a researcher in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, I published papers in world leading scientific journals including Physics Review B, Physics Review X and Physica E. My insights have helped many students to apply their skills in scientific research in projects like Extended Essay (EE) and Internal Assessment (IA) in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program.

Getting great satisfaction from helping students to achieve their academic goals and with my excellent academic performance and teaching experience, Chris is capable of arousing students’ interests in Physics. I believe that there is always more than one way to teach Physics, and what should be done is to find the best way for each student.

Outside of the classroom, I am interested in the advances being made in the fields of Science and History of Science.  My favourite Physicists are Albert Einstein and Richard Feynman. Both of them not only revolutionized many areas in Physics and provided insights to generations of Physicists but also cared a great deal about education.

I have been teaching as a physics tutor for all exam boards and levels since 2015. I am very experienced in teaching Physics and have helped many many students to achieve their full potential. I am currently working in an education centre, which provides education services to mainly students from international schools.
