Dusan Sekulic

Hi! My name is Dusan and I'm a professional English teacher from Canada! I have been travelling and teaching around the world for 10 years.

After becoming a fully qualified secondary school teacher in Canada, I have spent the majority of my career teaching EAL in various diverse locations. It has given me the chance to really expand my understanding of specific student needs, assessment, and helping pupils improve each week in their comprehension of grammar, speaking, listening and writing skills. This was particularly true in my time teaching culturally diverse students in St. George International College in Toronto. In London, I had the chance to drastically improve my classroom management and differentiation skills, catering to all mixed ability learners in my lessons. While in Abu Dhabi, the use of technology (iPads and smart board) and a larger focus on reading novels was greatly emphasised. Whereas in Tokyo, as a Team Leader, I had the opportunity to mentor some of the younger co-teachers on our team. Recently, I worked in Muscat, Oman at Finland Oman School, teaching secondary students. All throughout my years of teaching, I have always been an active participant in staff workshops, supported the development of teacher-student mentoring and extra-curricular activities within the departments and schools themselves.
