Andrew Eaton

I am hardworking and self-motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills. Since arriving in Hong Kong, I’ve worked for a Local Education Company providing English lessons working both in local schools and private institutes, while doing this I have also provided private tutoring to meet the specific needs of the child looking to improve and expand their reading and writing. 

I’ve worked with private clients for the past five years helping their children gain access to well-known schools such as Hong Kong International School, Hong Kong Academy and Singapore International School. I have also provided Maths and accounting lessons to older children and adults from various backgrounds. Before this I worked in the finance field in the Private and Public sector around the North West of England. 

My personal goal is to become a teacher, to achieve this goal I have re-entered education. This has helped to compliment my practical experience with necessary academic recognition. I’ve completed my studies for a bachelor’s Degree (with Honours) with University of Sunderland with the final result due in November. From the new year I intend to study for a PGCE I’m currently looking for a job role that will allow me to pursue this goal, after this I’d like to continue to pursue further education opportunities and continue grow professionally and personally.

For the past year I’ve been working for a number of agencies running various English courses at local schools throughout Hong Kong and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the challenges it has presented. I've been working with a private education provider for the last five years.

As I have finished my Bachelor Degree programme, I intend to complete the PGCE course through University of Sunderland, this requires a school placement with a mentor. I would intend to try and start the programme in February 2023.
